My new addiction

I'm still into Guitar Hero, however I haven't played it in a week or so. I beat level 1 and am now on the second level which is harder therefore I haven't played much, but I will beat that level as well, it will just take me longer. My new addiction is Digital Scrapbooking. I like to scrapbook the traditional way with the glue and paper and little embellishments, but I HATE to clean it all up and I don't have a place where I can leave it all out and go to it when I want to work on it. So I thought I would see what the hype was all about with digital and I gotta say I really like it. I can keep it all organized in nice little folder on my computer and even start a project and save it and come back later. No mess to clean up or dig out. When I'm finished with a page I can print it and put it in a scrapbook.

I found a really neat site that has several awesome theme kits to download for free. I used these kits to do the pages I've already done. Go see for yourself. Visit ShabbyPrincess and get to scrappin.

These are the three I have done so far. I have all kinds of ideas that I need to get started on.

All pages were done with free downloads from ShabbyPrincess.

19 month update.

On the 17th the boys turned 19 months old. I say it every month, but how can that be? I remember so vividly bringing them home and all those just barley making it through moments, but here we are, month 19, just five months shy of two years old.
This month like the last, has been and explosion of language. There are far too many words for me to remember and post, but they are saying thing all the time all day long. I was surprised by Karter earlier this week when I was holding him and I asked him where his nose was and so on, he showed me where each part was with a light tap and the he touched my hair and said hair. I did not teach him that, I was still working on the ears, where did he learn that? Jimmy said he didn't teach him either, he's so smart. Speaking of Karter he learned last week to move one of the kitchen chairs to the counter and climbed on the chair to reach a glass of water. Thankfully he has only done this once, but just the fact he knows how is enough to give me grief. They both have become very brave and stand up on things all the time. It's now a battle to get them to sit on the couch, sit on the chair, I'm constantly saying "sit on your bottom please" to which I get a smile and squeal and a little boy running from one end of the couch to the other. Both have fallen off much to my dismay, try as I might they are just too quick and still don't get the whole gravity thing. When does that kick in? Karter has learned the art of fit throwing, again much to my dismay. If he wants something that he is not supposed to have and you take it away he goes into a full fledge melt down that usually lasts a good 20 mins or so, no amount of ignoring or consoling works. Basically I have to distract him with something else, which may or may not work or let him cry it out. I've tried the whole, "now Karter I know your are frustrated and your really wanted that, but blah, blah, blah" you know the whole acknowledging their emotions thing, at this point it only ticks him off further. They both have begun to play more independently by themselves and together. Karter has began to somewhat not let Kolton bully him as much, and will fight for what he really wants, with not only grabbing and pulling but lots of screaming as well.

Kolton seems to be the leader, which we already knew, but he has started to take it upon himself to help Karter, with taking him his cup or his binkie or go and get him if I am calling for him. This is much to Karter's dismay this time(how many times have I used that word already). Kolton loves to eat, pretty much any and everything, but if he doesn't like it he will hold his mouth open says eww and wants me to get it out of his mouth. He has also started not liking things, such as too much dirt or food on his hand, he will say eww and wants me to clean them. They have both really started using their spoons and forks this month, both can use them but still use their hands a lot. Both say thank you when I hand them something and Kolton has even said please once or twice. Both have become obsessed with Elmo and want to watch him on TV or read a book with him in it, well we still don't read much, they just want to look at pictures. Kolton keeps ripping things out of the books that have lift up flaps on them. He knows he's not supposed to because he says "oh uh" and then shows me and tries to hide. Kolton is really into Blues Clues now. He likes books and the TV show, I got him a Blue stuffed animal, but he does not seemed interested at this point. Unfortunately Blues Clues has been on for 10 years or so and they don't play it that often on TV. All they really play it Dora and Diego and I don't care for either of them too much. They will watch some Backyardiagns, which I like and some Veggie Tales. Oh and they like Yo Gabba Gabba, which I think has got to be the weirdest one of them all. I won't go into details, but it's interesting to say the least. I try to avoid that one, but it is on the same channel I think has Handy Manny and they like that ok. Truthfully they don't watch that much TV, but there are times of the day when they will watch 20 mins or so here or there. I don't really watch that much during the day because the truth is I usually can't hear a word that is said or enough of the show to follow what is going on.

Look at his little finger on the trigger, he knows how to use it, this drill is about as heavy as he is but he insists on carrying it around.

So those are some of the thing that have been going on this past month. I look forward to seeing what 20 months brings. I also look forward to warmer weather. I'm so not a cold weather person I'm ready to get out of the house and play outside.

So much to do, so little time to do it in.

Don't you wish sometimes there were more than 24 hours in a day? Yeah me too. I've been busy with the boys and my nephew Collin. Three little stinky, silly boys wanting or needing something from me has kept me super busy lately. I'm working on their 19 month old update and should have that up in the next day or so.

Until then enjoy some pictures.

Chili -yum and messy.

Karter's favorite food!

Silly Kolton showing me his food in his mouth and his boogies up his nose. Allergies are hitting full force in this house. Karter telling me he is done.

Hero's

Guitar Hero's that is. I hate to admit it but this game is one of the reasons that I have not been updating regulary. Now I'm not a big video game player, instead of relaxing me they usually make me more stressed and uptight and I usually end up wanting the throw the controller. Back in the day when the Nintendo's just came out my siblings and I were given one for Christmas, I'm surprised that thing lasted, the abuse we put the controllers through, it actually had bite marks on it and I never beat Mario, any of them. With that said Nintendo has came a long way and the new game system, the Wii, has gotten me to like games a little better. Guitar Hero makes you feel like the Rock Star you never were or at least I never was. We have had it only a week and I have beaten the easy level and am ready for medium, which is so much harder to me. Anywho we are all fine, Jimmy and I have been jammin and doing our gigs when the kiddo's go to bed. We also got Dance Dance Revelotion as well, but I have not really played with it yet. It's kinda one of those games that you want to play alone until you get good enough so you don't make a complete dork of yourself.

Hopefully the new will wear off soon and I resume all the stuff I really need to be doing instead of sitting or standing in a toy exploded living room and kitchen with laundry piles everywhere.
And No Nintendo did not pay me to speak so highly about their products, although they could pay me if they would like too.

New Shirts and a doctor update.

I found these shirts at Wal-Mart and had to get them. I tried to get a picture of them without there binkies, but it was close to bedtime and we had just gotten home so they were having none of that.

Pay no attention to the supposed to be red, but turned out kinda pink looking cabinets. I thought it was such a good idea six or seven years ago. What was I thinking? It sucked to paint them in the first place now I don't want to do it again. I don't like them and am thinking about hiring someone to come and paint them for me.

Also I took both Kolton and Karter in to the doctor last Thursday. Karter for a recheck on his anemia. I'm glad to report that his numbers have come up into the normal range. They were 12.9 this time as opposed to 7.9 3 weeks ago. No further medicine needed but we do have to go back in a month to recheck to make sure they are staying normal. While there he was weighted and we got his height. He was 24lbs and 33 1/4 inches tall.

Kolton went for a croupy cough that had stayed longer than I thought it should have. He had a cold that turned into a sinus infection and was still having some pretty bad drainage and stuffy nose. He was put on some antibiotics and feels much better now. He weighed 25lbs and was also 33 1/4 inches tall.

New Words

I've heard that at about 18 months kids have a language explosion. I believe this to be true. Kolton and Karter are adding new words everyday.

Kolton says treat for his nebulizer treatment, turn when it's his turn to ride on daddy's shoulder, daddy taught him good gosh, but it sounds like good ga, he says good good, when he likes something he's eating. He tries to say pretzel but it sound more like pret. Says water, but sounds like wawer, cup, diaper and eat. Thats all I can think of now. Kolton has learned to climb on the kitchen chairs. The other day he sat there the whole time I was cooking dinner.

Karter says light and points to the light, wawer for water, pre or something like that for pretzel, cup, can say but only when you say it to him love you, but you have to listen close. Hot for the stove, diaper and eat. Like before I'm sure there is more, but that's all I remember now.

I need to clarify

It was not my family members that I talked about in my old blog, well except my grandma and she doesn't even have a computer so she would never see it. I still love her dearly though. It was however people that I am still in contact with and am on very good terms with. So with that said, all you family members out there worrying, it was not about you. :)
