Some funny stuff the boys have said lately.
*While singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Kolton one night before bedtime, he began to sing along and said "I sing it better than you mom."
*Someone put too much paper in the toilet and Jimmy had to plunge it. Karter said we needed to call the toilet people and if they didn't fix it daddy was "going to have to kick their ass!"
*Tonight after the boys and Jimmy came out of the home office(which we call the computer room) Kolton told me you have to have a ding ding to go in there. To which Jimmy laughed at and said he hasn't told the boys that in weeks, but they like to call it their boys club.
Tonight while putting Karter to bed he said " you have to have a ding ding to go into the computer room unless you are doing your paper thingy(scrapbooking).
*Karter likes to drag out old computer stuff. One morning he had the coffee table completely covered, I said Oh Karter look at all that mess, he said in an exasperated voice "I know".

Today
Today while in walmart I reached into my purse to find something to put my chewed gum in. It was starting to irritate me, the gum that is. Does anyone else know what I mean? You know, you chew it until all the flavor is gone and then you chew it some more and then it starts to get hard to chew and then it gets on your nerves. Anyway, while looking for something to put it in I discovered a taco in my purse. Yes a taco. The taco has evidently been in my purse since Sunday when we visited my mother and Jimmy put it in my purse for Karter. Eww an old dried up taco. Wonder what else is in there?

Songs
While riding in the car last night there was a good song on the radio. I turned it up a bit and began to sing. At first Karter said "it's too loud, turn it down." He generally says this if anything other than the Mickey Mouse CD is playing. I just continued to sing and then from the backseat Kolton begins to sing in a loud voice his new song. "I want my binkie always, I want my binkie alwaaaays" he sang this over and over each time getting louder and dragging out the word always. It was cracking us up. Then Karter started in with his version. "I want my B always, I want my B always."
They sang that for about 10 mins. Such creative little boys I have. I hope they both inherit the ability to sing. I love to sing and it reminds me we need to listen to more music around the house and not just in the car.
Hmm, I need to get and Ipod docking station. So I don't have to mess with CD's around here.

I like Target, I like Target a lot!
After being stuck at home for two days because of the ice and snow, the kids and I decided to make a trip to Target just to get out of the house. The boys were very excited to be going somewhere. As I tried to back out of the garage my tires were slipping a lot, but I managed, however at the end of the drive my SUV was having all kinds of trouble. I had been trying for about 5 mins or so to get out and decided that we would just have to be stuck at home another day. When I announced this to the boys Kolton said "no mommy, I want to go to Target." When I explained that we couldn't get out of the drive he said "mommy can do it" he was very admit so I kept on and I did eventually get out and they were so happy. They both said "you did it mommy."
Karter then said the batteries were running down. I finally figured out that he thought I was slipping and stuck because my batteries were low, like in his toys. They get sluggish and don't work right when the batteries are low. I thought that was pretty smart.
Also I want to thank everyone for their suggestions on my last post. I have some ideas now!
This is one reason I love Target.
This chair was on sale for 50% off. They didn't have anymore in stock so I asked to by the floor sample. I was able to get the floor sample for and additional 30% off the half off price. Making a $329.00 chair $124.00. While that's still a nice chunk of change it was a good deal. It does have screw holes in the legs where it was bolted to the floor but they are really un-noticeable unless they are pointed out and one leg has a crack in it.

Things heard and done at my house this week.
We've had our first, and probably only snow/ice storm. This is the front yard.
Kolton and Karter have been wanting and eating lots of cheese. Jimmy and I tell them eating too much cheese will clog your butthole up. I know, I know we should probably have used a better word. Anyway, while eating raisins the other day Kolton told Jimmy that "raisins clog me butthole up." Oh Brother!
Jimmy ate his ice cream out of the dog food bowl last night. He had no idea until I pointed it out to him. He has used the smaller dogs food bowl, which is just a plastic tupperware bowl, to fill up our Great Danes bowl to which he added scraps. He sat it on the counter so I could add more food to it later. When I told him he said "oh man, I thought it was a clean bowl."
The boys have been craaaazy lately. I can't wait until it's warmer outside. These boys need to get out and burn off some energy. They have been talking like crazy and using their imaginations like crazy. I've run out of ideas. We've played with playdough, we've painted, colored, played in the water, played with phones and electronics, I don't know what else to do to entertain them. Anyone got any ideas. I try to read to them but they lose interest quickly. They don't really seem interested in learning sounds and letters yet and I'm not sure how to really do this with them. Anyone got ideas on this?
I've worried about the horses these past could of days. While their owners have been feeding them, I can see the wetness and probably ice on their fur. Makes me want to buy them coats, or build them a barn or something. They seem to be doing fine though. This is the backyard.

Potty Training (Part 3)
We are still working on it, but Karter is now in the lead. He only occasionally pees his pants, and just today told me when he had to go. Neither one are convinced that you can actually poop in the potty, but both have been told if they poop in the potty they will get to go to the store and pick out a toy.
It's still no fun and takes up A LOT of time. Going to the yucky public bathrooms now takes what seems like 20 mins and trying to convince both boys to not touch all the nasty stuff in there or open and close the door is a challenge. I have several times just wanted to give up and try again later, but I'm still pretty sure they are ready, just stubborn and lazy at times.
We will just keep chugging a long.
Now for a funny story.
So the other day I opened the back door to give the dogs some food and Kolton ran out. It's been really cold here lately and Jimmy usually tells him that it's so cold he will freeze his ding ding off. That's what we call his little boy parts. He had his underwear on but no pants. I told him to get inside that is was so cold he would freeze his ding ding off. He ran back inside and looked concerned. I asked him if his ding ding was still there. He looked down and touched his underwear and said yeah, then he opened his pants looked inside and said "it's still there." Of course I was laughing and he started to laugh too. Silly little boys.
Pictures to come soon. Tonight I'm having trouble getting to them on our server.

There's a What in the What
Today on his way to work Jimmy called me and said he found a quarter sticking out of his CD player in his car. He then tried to put a CD in and it wouldn't go. He discovered that one of the boys has stuffed change in his CD player. We assume it happened this weekend when they were playing in the car as daddy cleaned the garage. So now he has to take the CD player out and get the change out.
This morning on my way to take a shower. Kolton came and was telling me something about the TV cable in our room. He had pulled on it and disconnected it not only from the wall but from the little thing that screws into the wall.
Then this evening before I cleaned the toys up. I was sitting on the couch and I noticed something in the fireplace keyhole. On closer inspection Jimmy found out it was a piece of cheese that the boys had just been eating. We were sitting right there and neither one of us saw them do it.

Quack Quack
Jimmy was giving the boys rides on his shoulders. It was Kolton's turn and as he crossed under the door frames he would tell Kolton to duck and Kolton would duck and then say something. We couldn't figure out what he was saying then all the sudden it hit me. As Jimmy said duck, Kolton would say Quack Quack, like a duck!
Once we figured it out Jimmy and I could not stop laughing. Oh two year olds, they are so fun!

Something else that I never thought I would have to say.
Karter don't lick the wall.
He thought it was funny so kept doing it. Finally to get him to stop I told him he was licking bug poo poo off the wall when he did that. He stopped.

Things I never thought I'd have to say
Karter please stop licking the counter.
Boys are silly. I remember when my brother was about 4 or 5. We were in a department store and my mom was looking at jewelry. My brother came up to the case and starting licking it all up and down the glass leaving spit marks as he went. I remember my mom and the counter worker just looking at him like he was crazy. If I also remember correctly that was the same day he did a summer sault in the middle of the store and came up with his shirt off.
I'm sure I have more things I never thought I would have to say coming my way.

A Cabinet Full of Boys
The boys are really into taking all their toys out of whatever cabinet, or storage unit they are in and throwing them all over the floor. There is a a cabinet in the living room that holds some toys, but yesterday it held some boys.

Something I never thought I would have to do.
Dig a pair of key out of the toilet, when there is poop in it.
This resulted in one boy screaming bloody murder because his keys are not in the toilet and the other boy looking very, very guilty and concerned.

Someday they will hate me for this.
Last Sunday we visited a new church, afterwards I kicked my shoes off in the living room, since then Kolton and Karter have been playing with them. They love to put on either mine or Jimmy's shoes. They usually prefer mine though since they are a little easier to walk in than Jimmy's big ole shoes. Anyway, today they had a fight over the shoes so I told Kolton to go get some more out of my closet. He chose black ones and after telling me to check for spiders, which I did and thankfully there was none, he put them on and they stomped around in them for an hour or so. After dinner and while they were watching daddy out the kitchen window mow, they put them on again and I pulled out my camera.

Love Thy Neighbor.
I'm kind of shy, that is until I get to know you. If I'm in a room full of people I will hang back until I see someone I know, if I don't know anyone I usually sit quietly. I have to say over the years this has somewhat resided, but it's still there and sometimes people assume I'm snobby or standoffish because of this. My husband, Jimmy is the exact opposite. The reason I'm telling you this is because when we moved to our new house, one of our new neighbors came over right away. She was defiantly not shy and offered right off to watch the boys sometime for us when they get to know her better. While I appreciated the offer I could never see myself letting her watch my children while I am no where in site. I also secretly hoped she would not become one of THOSE neighbors, you know the ones who are always up in your business.
I happy to report, while she is a bit opinionated she is a very lovely lady. She has been nothing but nice to us giving us things from her garden. Cooking then bringing over things we have never had before, she and her husband are Chinese they moved to the states 40 so years ago, coming over to chat while we are out in the yard in the evenings.
A couple of days ago while we were outside chatting, she asked the boys if they wanted some ice cream, both said yes, and Kolton took off to her house. Karter was a little more hesitant, but as long as he could see us he went along. They ate a little ice cream and then did their favorite thing, play in the water. She lets them help water her garden and plants, telling them what each one is, sometimes giving the Chinese name, she is very patient with them and they seem to really be warming up to her. Now, I doubt I will every let her watch them, only because I'm overprotective like that, but I love having her around and the culture she brings to them and our family is an added bonus.

While the boys were next door eating ice cream and watering the garden I was on the back porch shaving one of our dogs. He had just emerged from our creek area covered in what we call stick tides, little tiny sticker things that get stuck in their hair and are almost impossible to comb out. So he got a shave, I have to say he did look funny and still does be he doesn't have stick tides. Anyway, after Kolton got back from the neighbors he noticed Sparky and began pointing and yelling "sparky broke, sprarky broke". I explained that no sparky was not broke, just shaved almost bald. This seemed to be an ok answer for Kolton and he began playing again.

Mail Mail
In our old house the mail slot was in the door. The mail man would just stick the mail in the slot and it would land on the floor.
We recently installed a cat door in the door that leads to the garage ( just a side note, I like the cat box to be in the garage so you don't have to deal with the cat litter and smell in the house and the cats don't seem to mind).
While fixing the boys lunch I see them gathering their cards from their birth day and heading to that door. When I went to see what they were doing this is what I found.

Fun with Markers
We had our first marker accident today. Well it was actually a highlighter but Karter didn't care. While changing Kolton's diaper, Karter disappeared into my bedroom. I called for him and he didn't answer or come so I finished up quickly and went into the room. I saw he had taken a highlighter out of the side table drawer, but the lid was on it. Then I saw his face. I had to laugh he did a pretty good job giving himself some sort of war paint look. Both the boys have been watching me put on my make up and I can only assume that is what he was imitating since he got it so close to his eyes. Time to remove the pens and markers from all drawers.
On a side note, he was not feeling well today, well enough to paint his face, but he had been running a fever. I also asked him to smile and this is what he did. I think he thought I meant show me your teeth, because his daddy says to him "show me your pretty teeth" and this is what he does.
