The theme for the birthday party was Toy Story. My sister Keelan, made the cake and it was delish. I don't have photo's of the boys blowing out their candles, but I do have video, which I hope to post at some point. Karter was really into the birthday song this year! The boys where so excited for their birthday this year. They kept asking when it was time for their party and who was coming to their party. Everyone seemed to have fun. I believe it was a success.

Happy 4th Birthday My Baby Boys
These will be the last pictures of my boys as three year olds. They are not real good pictures, but are the best I could get as they went out to play in the sweltering heat.
Today there will be a Toy Story birthday party, to celebrate their new age. In exactly a month there will be a new milestone. School. How did that happen so fast? I remember on many sleepless nights, while I was so tired, thinking that this stage would be over soon. At the time I was begging it to hurry up. I was dying from no sleep and worrying about having two preemie boys at home with me along with all the medical equipment and issues that accompanied that. Now I would like, just for a few hours, to snuggle those tiny little boys again.
Now days they are much too busy for cuddling, but every once in awhile one or the other will makes his way over to me, give me a kiss and say I love you momma.
I may have begged for the days to pass quicker when they were so tiny, but now would be a good time for it to slow down a bit. Four is a good age to stop time for awhile, don't you think?
Happy Birthday Kolton and Karter! You makes our days, happy and hectic and on the rare occasion down right awful, but your dad and I wouldn't change it at all.

3rd Birthday Party
The theme for this years party was Mickey Mouse Club House. This is the boys favorite show as of right now and they loved their Mickey stuff. My sister made the cake and the boys got some really neat stuff. Now I need to go through all the old toys because we are getting way too many.
On their actual birthday, which was Friday, we took the boys out to eat were they wanted to go, which was Zio's. Then we went to the mall and they rode on the cars in the food court and then it was off to pick out their gift at the Lego store. Karter chose a train set and Kolton an airplane. They later fought over the airplane and Karter said he wanted to take his back and get an airplane. Because of the price diffrence Karter got two train sets and a little fire truck. It was a nice day and they really seemed to have a nice time. They also seem to be going through a growth spurt right now. Both boys seem to have gotten taller, talk more and speak clearer and are eating everything that's not nailed down.

Turning 3
Tomorrow my babies turn 3. How did that happen? I feel both sad and happy about this. I think of that early morning three years ago at 5:00 am when I heard the audible pop of my water breaking. The strange calmness I felt knowing that this was it, this was the day that my 30 weeker babies were going to be born. The unbelievable journey that, that day started.
My babies turn 3 tomorrow. I look at them and no longer see babies but little boys, but they will ALWAYS be MY babies.
Kolton and Karter your daddy and I are so unbelievably proud of you both. You have triumphed many things in your short 3 years. I look forward to all the things to come even it they give me anxiety attacks thinking about letting you continue to gain your independence. I know they say that a mother should make sure she doesn't lose herself too much in her children. To maintain a sense of self, but the truth is I'm lost in you guys and I wouldn't have it any other way.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOLTON and KARTER!!!!

Birthday Babies
Today was my niece and nephews 1st birthday party. They are three days apart so they had a combined party. They got lots of goodies and had lots of cake. I took a ton of pictures but these are a few of my favorites.
I love these little munchkins like my own.

Birthday Party
The party was a hit. Thank you to everyone who attended. I'm so grateful that we have so many family and friends that love us and our boys. The boys love all their gifts and have played with them all today. You should see my living room, it looks like a toy store.

Happy 2nd Birthday!!!
Today the boys turned two. Oh were did the time go? Jimmy took off work today and we took the boys to a science museum. The both seemed to have fun, that is until Karter got too tired and had a little meltdown. Thankfully that didn't last too long. Their actual party is on Saturday so today was just us four.
The day started with daddy giving the boys their birthday gift from him. Phones, real phones. Of course they are not plugged into the phone line, but they are charged up and make all kinds of noises.
Then we went to the science museum. Even though we forgot our stroller,(seriously how did we do that)we were able to use some pretty nasty strollers at the museum. Karter had a ball pushing it around.
Then we had some not so good store bought cupcakes.
I love you boys! I'm so proud of how far you've come and look forward to watching you grow into what you will become.

Night waking and birthday stuff
For three nights in a row Karter or Kolton have woken up screaming or crying. Last night I got up with Karter 3 times, two of which he lost his binkie in his blanket and the third for who knows why. I don't know if it's just that I hear it more now that I have the monitor hooked up again or that I feel I have to check on them because they are all the way across the house, either way it's making me tired. Naps have also not been going as well. I used to be guaranteed at least a two hour nap usually from 12 to 2 now it's anyone's guess if they will fall asleep. Unless they are screaming to get out, I usually just leave them in there for some quiet time, for both them and me. It's a switch off who will sleep and who won't.
I'm fixing to start working on breaking the binkie habit and then on to potty training. I don't know if I'm abnormal or what, but I don't really look forward to either one of those. I know with both it's going to be exhausting. I don't really like exhausting, but I don't want to clean poop diapers for the rest of my life and I'm also tired of dealing with the problems that are arising from the binkies. So that's what's ahead for us.
As far as their birthday party goes, I've mailed the invitations and am now trying to organize in my head all the things I'm going to need and the stuff I want to do.
On the house front. All but a few boxes are unpacked. I would like to paint some of the rooms as they are all beige. Beige is ok in small doses but all beige is a bit much for me. I also need to get some pictures and curtains hung. I really need curtains in the breakfast area, which is the area we use to eat all our meals, as that area is like and echo chamber and the kids high pitch screams sound as if they just might kill you while in there.
A few small stresses remain that have been on my mind that hopefully we can get rid of soon. Our house in Shawnee has not sold yet, and neither has the rent house and two we still don't have a fence here. Hubby is working on it the best he can for now, but we are waiting for the neighbors to get their part done. I've stated this before but having no fence has been no fun and resulted in a really nasty rope burn on my leg, while trying to avoid the long line our 150lb great dane is hooked up to. Not to mention the terrible two's have come to visit and with it I think my son's hearing has been affected. No amount of calling their name or even yelling their name stops them from running from the back to the front of the house.
So this was a pretty random, post with several rants, but that's what came out when I sat down to type so that's what ya get.
*I'll have to add pictures later. The server I have them on is currently not working right now.

Happy 1st Birthday Kolton and Karter!
We made it. At times it felt like we wouldn't but we did and it just keeps getting better from here. I have a whole bunch of stuff to update on. First not only was it the boys birthday today, but it was also the kickoff meeting for the March of Dimes in my area. I gave my speech today, got my information for WalkAmerica and will be setting up my sites there soon. On the March of Dimes site you will be able to donate to the March of Dimes. When I get it set up I will post a link and more information to where your money goes and how you can help.
First off I can't believe in just one short year we went from this
Karter 3 days old
Kolton 3 days old
To this. This, as I have said before has been the most happiest, saddest, loneliest, overwhelming year of my life. I had no idea the amount of suffering and heartache Jimmy and I would endure. I had no idea of the number of premature babies or babies with birth defects where born on a day. I have seen first hand as I'm sure others of you out there have witnessed the sadness that goes on in the NICU. Fortunately and Praise God my story has turned out to be a positive one, but many are not and I have witnessed those. I am glad that I am aware of it now, it gives me the dedication I need to work with the March of Dimes, but on another level I wish I had the naivete that I had before I went through all this. It is not easy knowing that everyday babies are born too soon and may die or have to endure an amazing struggle all before their due date. This can happen to anyone, which is the hardest to understand. I did everything I was supposed to do during my pregnancy, however my body could not handle the stress of twins and had stretched to the max, thinking I was at full term and resulting in my boys being born too early. I'm not as sad about it as I used to be, time has healed Jimmy and I a little, but every now and then I will see a scar or a picture and it all comes back. The feeling of anxiety, worry and uncertainty.
Boy I sure am glad that year is over, now bring on the terrible twos.
I have more things add, like the speech I gave today and the boys one year update, but it will have to wait until later. It's late and we had a very busy day so off to bed I go.

Wagons,Cookies and March of Dimes..
I have a little bit more information on the March of Dimes stuff. The kickoff meeting will be on July 17th, the boys birthday. I will be giving a speech basically telling our story and I will also bring along a story board with pictures and such. Kolton and Karter will be there as everyone wants to see them and see how well they are doing. Jimmy will be coming along as well. Then sometime in September, not sure of the date just yet, I think the 28 or 29th there will be a walk, which we will be raising money for, I'll let you know more about that as it gets closer and I know more.
Now for some pictures. We had a nice fourth. We had family over and cooked out and played with the wii. The boys had fun getting so much attention and got to stay up an hour past their bedtime. We did not however take them to see fireworks, they where too sleepy and just wanted to go to bed, maybe next year. Earlier in the day Nanny brought over their birthday present because she is going out of town the week of their party and birthday. They really liked their gift and they will have lots of fun with it for years to come. We have planned thier party for the 14th of July and I sent out invites today.
Kolton
Karter
Tomorrow we go for their one year old pictures. Hopefully they will turn out good, and the boys will corporate.
